Azalea is a flowering shrub and is also the national flower of Nepal. The plant is shade-tolerant and dates back to millions of years. Azaleas are the perfect choice of wedding decorators and interior designers as the plant has terminal flowering phase, which indicates the flowers bloom at the same time. This makes for a gorgeous display as a centerpiece or tabletop arrangement. The Azalea plants are versatile and can bloom in outdoors as well. It finds mention in the poetry of Du Fu and is called Sixiang Shu or ‘thinking of home’.

It is also the symbol of Sao Paulo, Brazil.
