As the name suggests, the garden is meant to enhance, heighten and please all the five senses - such as smell, sight, sound, taste and touch. An amalgamation of fragrance, texture and form engulfs you as you walk into the doors. The blocks of sandstone and an open amphitheatre along with open exhibition area make for the social and leisure space. The stone of the boundary and dome-shaped complex depicts the first architecture of the city. The garden is well-connected with the metro. The nearest Delhi Metro station is Saket. One can also take private cabs and autos to reach there.

The garden of five senses was developed as the capital 's desperate need of a space for recreational and leisure.  The project of Delhi Tourism Transportation Development, the garden is spread over 20 acres of land and isn't just meant for the nature walk alone.  It is the much-needed space for the artsy and nature-loving folks of Delhi come together and revel in its unparalleled beauty. The stainless-steel birds adorn the slate-clad pillars that are erected around the garden.

Flora at The Garden of Five Senses

Apart from the familiar flowering plants making for an aesthetic display, you could see beds of flowering shrubs and covers including plants like herbs, cacti and bamboo.

Upstairs is a food court and shopping place. If you aren't hungry or in no mood to shop until now, follow the fragrance to pinwheels and rocks surrounding a sculpture made of stainless steel.

Come a little further and you will be welcomed with a pond of water with lilies and pergola amidst different plants and flowers. This is called Neel Bagh and has several ceramic chimes that spread the mild peals of laughter when they dance to the music of breeze.Delhi - Garden of Sense Photography
